Molly Abrahamson

Molly Abrahamson grew up in Pembroke, Massachusetts. She has a loving family and an enormous, annoying, and adorable Black Lab named Max, who everyone calls Mickey.

As a Professional Writing major at Champlain College, she specializes in journalism and minors in foreign language, with aspirations to become fluent in French, Spanish, and German. (One language down, two to go!) This is her second book.

Pamela Heinrich MacPherson has been a community advocate for end-of-life care for over three decades. In 1964, Pam graduated from the Jeanne Mance School of Nursing, where she was drawn to end-of-life care issues. She later received training as a Hospice Volunteer and served as Hospice Volunteer Coordinator for the Visiting Nurse Association of Chittenden and Grand Isle County (VNA) from 1988-2004, a position to which she brought passion and dedication.

Retirement from the VNA in 2004 allowed Pam to give more time and energy to community resources related to quality care at the end of life. In her volunteer role, sitting vigil with dying individuals holds life’s deepest meaning for her. She recently published a book of poetry written about these experiences: Vigil: The Poetry of Presence. As a founding member of VNA’s Madison-Deane Initiative (MDI), her involvement  has spanned two decades. MDI is an organization that seeks to change the face of dying through education of the general public, as well as of healthcare professionals.

You matter because you are you.

You matter to the last moment of your life,

And we will do all we can not only to help you die peacefully,

But also to live until you die.
